BECOME A SPONSOR OF

ATLANTA STREETS ALIVE!

Two Saturday mornings 2011 – June 11 and June 25th

Atlanta’s FREE community-based health and recreation event

The Atlanta Bicycle Coalition, a local nonprofit, is partnering with Atlanta City Council Member Kwanza Hall and many local organizations and leaders including the CDC, Central Atlanta Progress/ADID, the Atlanta Regional Commission, nonprofits, businesses, and local university faculty and students to once again bring this healthy, active, and free project to Atlanta’s streets.

Atlanta Streets Alive! is a new program that makes it possible for people to engage in healthy physical activities on public streets while interacting with Atlanta’s downtown neighborhoods, cultural institutions and businesses.

Atlanta Streets Alive! has received a broad swath of support throughout the city, including the endorsement of Mayor Kasim Reed, Councilmember Kwanza Hall and a variety of local organizations including CAP/ADID, the Atlanta Regional Commission, Atlanta universities, and nonprofits interested in promoting physical activity and citizen engagement in our city.

As we did in the 2010 events, we will again partner with professors and students from Georgia State University’s Institute of Public Health, as well as The Centers for Disease Control, to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of program participants in order to determine whether the program has a positive impact on their lifestyles. No other similar program in the United States has this capacity, and we are excited about sharing our results and pushing to incorporate this event into annual city of Atlanta programming.

Sponsorship Levels

Atlanta Streets Alive! provides a unique opportunity for forward-thinking businesses to support Atlanta’s first ever ciclovia, an international phenomenon coming to Atlanta, and establish an early relationship in what is slated to become an ongoing program.

Both the May and October Atlanta Streets Alive events brought approximately 6,000 people to the streets, exceeding initial expectations of 3,000, and our 2011 events will be fantastic opportunities for to reach a wide swath of Atlanta’s residents and visitors.
