Would you or your organization would like to organize an activity for Atlanta Streets Alive this May?

We’re looking for all kinds of interesting and creative activities, from sports related to artistic expression to friendly competitiveness to childish play.

Here’s more information for those interested in hosting an activity:

Time & Location

The event is on May 20th, 2012 from 2pm to 6pm on Highland Avenue. The route is 2 miles in length, from Corley Street all the way up to Virginia Avenue! We are thrilled about the route and hope to attract 10,000 people from all over Atlanta.

Theme & Activities

The theme is Human Powered Amusement — therefore any form of expression that involves some form or physical/human exertion is appropriate. So far we have a range of activities such as bootcamps, yoga sessions, belly dancers, hula-hoopers, “theater on the move” and the Great Altanta Bicycle Parade. As an activity partner, participants would receive all free schwag including stickers, buttons, t-shirts and social media shout-outs leading up to the event, during the event, and after the event.

To apply to have an activity, please fill out this form on our website: http://atlantastreetsalive.com/activity/

There you can place details on ideas of how many people would be participating and where along the route you’d like to be, or if you’d like to MOVE along the route, just where you would like to start and end. We have very limited access to power sources, and would love your thoughts on how to make “low to minimum power” work best.

Marketing

Once you’ve been approved as an activity partner, we’ll ask for a 100 word bio and photo of your group to place on our website. Also, we will be sharing more information through Facebook and twitter and would love for you and all of your participants to help us get the word out about Atlanta Streets Alive.

Sponsorships

And if we get enough sponsors, we may be able to offer performers a small stipend, however we are far below on sponsorships at the moment, unfortunately. Any help you could provide with sponsors would be so appreciated and rewarded! This event is free to the public and all money raised goes directly to running the event, it is not a fundraiser. So as long as we raise enough to cover for police and barricades the rest can go to support the activities. If you care to share information on sponsorships, please direct possible sponsors to our website to see the sponsor booklet or contact Brian Baj.
