An urban variation of soft-court (grass) cycle polo, hard-court bike polo has its roots in the early 2000′s. Originally started by messengers who had downtime in between deliveries, the game developed in Seattle and some of the earlier rules were founded (teams of 3 on 3, scoring with the end of the mallet). Bike polo is free and DIY at heart, with players often building their own mallets and bicycles. It is gaining popularity and is currently played in over 30 countries and 300 cities worldwide.
Atlanta Bike Polo is a hard-court bike polo crew. We’ve played in parking lots, tennis courts, and other locations since 2008. We currently play every Thursday at 7:30pm at the Lang Carson Park basketball court in Reynoldstown. Our sole purpose is to have fun, build community, and be active. Come join us!
