BECOME A SPONSOR OF
ATLANTA STREETS ALIVE!

Sunday, May 23rd 2010 from 1-6PM

Atlanta’s first-ever FREE community-based health and recreation event

CONNECT WITH THE CITIZENS OF ATLANTA AS THEY
COME OUT TO PLAY IN THE STREETS!

This spring, the Atlanta Bicycle Coalition, a local nonprofit, is partnering with many local organizations and leaders including Atlanta City Council Member Kwanza Hall, the CDC, Central Atlanta Progress, the Atlanta Regional Commission, the Civic League, nonprofits, businesses, and local university faculty and students to bring a healthy, active, and free project to Atlanta’s streets.

Atlanta Streets Alive! is a new program that will make it possible for people to engage in healthy physical activities on public streets while interacting with Atlanta’s downtown neighborhoods, cultural institutions and businesses.

Atlanta Streets Alive! has received a broad swath of support throughout the city, including the endorsement of Mayor Kasim Reed, Councilmember Kwanza Hall and a variety of local organizations including CAP/ADID, the Atlanta Regional Commission, Atlanta universities, and nonprofits interested in promoting physical activity and citizen engagement in our city.

Our partner organizations include the Georgia Conservancy, the Atlanta Ballet, PLAY, and Bounce Fitness, ensuring that a diverse and exciting range of programming will take place during the event.

We are extremely proud to be partnering with The Centers for Disease Control to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of program participants in order to determine whether the program has a positive impact on their lifestyles. No other similar program in the United States has this capacity, and we are excited about sharing our results and pushing to incorporate this event into annual city of Atlanta programming.
