Fun, entertaining, and active activities are a big part of Atlanta Streets Alive. We depend on businesses and organizations to host an activity that promotes movement, and engages event participants. Hosting an activity gives your organization a chance to be out in the community, to gain exposure and to have fun doing it. Please read this FAQ before registering your activity, hopefully it will answer any questions you have about becoming an activity partner.

What kinds of activities do people set up?
The best activities are those that creatively represent your business or organization, but that get event participants involved. For example, a gym hosting workouts or fitness challenges. A dance group giving short lessons. A clothing store doing a fashion show. We’ve even had a self-storage facility create a cardboard box maze for kids! Sometimes activity partners are just individuals who want to share their passion for an activity such as slacklining or hula hooping.

I am representing a non-profit organization, am I allowed to table at the event?
There are lots of great organizations doing good work in Atlanta, and we invite them to come to Atlanta Streets Alive to share what they do. However, we discourage organizations from simply giving out print materials during the event. Please consider setting up a fun activity. This will bring more people to your table, and help keep Atlanta Streets Alive an active, environmentally friendly event.

My business is on the route, what should I do?
As a business owner, you are encouraged to remain open as usual. Many business at past events reported increased sales due to more foot traffic. As a business owner along the route, you can keep doing what you have been, though you are encouraged to set up an activity in front of your store to bring in event participants! Please contact us with any concerns you may have about the event.

Is there a vendor application for the event?
The emphasis of Atlanta Streets Alive is activity, thus we discourage activity partners from selling goods or services along the route. It is the lack of street vending that sets Atlanta Streets Alive apart as an event. If you are a vendor, you may take this opportunity to set up a fun activity and make contacts. But please do not vend. Please note: businesses that are located on the route are allowed to sell as usual.

Will you provide power / a place to plug-in for activity partners?
Unfortunately we are unable to provide power to activity partners. If your activity requires electricity we encourage you to reach out to businesses along the route ahead of time to see if you will be able to use their power. If your activity needs to be set up near a specific business because you already have the business owners permission to use their power, please note it in the application.

Where do I set up my activity?
Please review the Walkabout Map (http://www.walkaboutapp.com/westend15), as well as the document list provided. You will be assigned to a certain side of the street to set up on, so please stick to that in order to help keep the flow of traffic going. Please share this Walkabout map on your social media pages!

Where will water and restrooms be located?
There are port-a-potties and water stations spread out along the event and can be found on the Walkabout Map provided.

Where can I park my vehicle?
Any side street outside the route is fair game, another good location with lots of spaces is the West End Mall (at the corner of RDA and Lee St.). Please avoid parking inside the route to be courteous of the residents who already have limited parking.

Can I set up in the parks and green spaces near my activity location?
Our permit does not allow ASA activities to set up in the parks. Of course, attendees are more than welcome to hang out/eat/play in the parks as normal.
